Tips 4 Christian Dating, Issue #009 --, Let God Direct You July 27, 2010 |
Let God Direct YouTips 4 Christian Dating, Issue #009 -- , My tip for you this month is that you should let God direct you and lead you to your life partner. Don't become so wise in yourself that you begin to leave God out of the equation. Let God be the center of your decisions and allow him to lead you to the right person. I remember when I met my wife, I wasn't even really looking for a partner to be honest but one prayer I always pray is that God should lead me in everything that I do. I had a bad experience in my previous relationship before meeting my wife and I had made up my mind that I would leave the whole dating and relationship thing for a while. But God in his wisdom, set me up so that I ended up attending her church for 6 months to work as a music minister and it was while I was working there that we met and once my contract at her church ended, I left to return to my home church and she followed me and we have been together ever since. God literally led me to her church just to meet her. God will do that for you when you involve him and make him the centre of your decisions. You see, in the previous relationship I had before meeting my wife, I didnt really consult God, I just saw this girl and she looked nice and seemed nice. I didnt pray and ask for Gods leading and as a result I ended up having my heart broken. From that point on I realised the danger of being wise in your own eyes and made up my mind that I wasnt going to make any relationship decision with being led of God. From then on I committed my ways to God and allowed him to be the sole director of my life and I have never regretted that decision because he led me to my soul mate and beautiful wife. Let God lead you, dont be in a rush, dont just settle for someone because they look nice and seem like a nice person, seek God and let God direct your decision. Because someone has the right appearance doesnt mean they are right for the Job. King David's brothers had the right appearance but God didnt choose them as king, it was David that didnt even look the part that God Chose. When you let God lead you, you will be able to avoid the wolves in sheep's clothing. I leave you with this quote from the bible to reaffirm my point: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6 God bless Paul P.S.
