Because dating doesn't have to be painful

Tips 4 Christian Dating, Issue #003 -- Trusting God For A Life Partner

I know the next ezine isn't due until next month but I just had to share this with you.

I got a question via my youtube channel from someone wanting to know how you can tell whether God is truly the one leading you to make a decision about a life partner or a business or career move. It's that ever popular question regarding how do you know it's God leading you and not you leading yourself.

As I began to answer the question, I realised that the answer might bless others, as even I was getting blessed as I was wrting the reply to this question. so I decided to share it with you guys as well.

Here's the reply I gave to the guy:

The bible says in proverbs 3:5 that we should trust in the lord with all our heart and that we shouldnt rely on our own understanding and that in ALL our ways and in Everything we should we should acknowledge him and he will direct our path.

The bible also teaches us that we should walk by Faith in 2 corinthians 5:7.

The way I approach making decisions in my life, be it the decision of a life partner, the decision of a business or career etc is that I always committ my ways to God by praying that God will lead me and direct my steps.

The bible says in Proverbs 19:21 that many are the plans in a mans heart but only the lords purpose will prevail and I live according to that. I know that regardless of my personal will, Gods purpose will eventually prevail over mine because I submit my life to him and I walk by Faith and I acknowledge him then trust him to lead me to where he wants me to be.

If you truly and prayerfully committ your decisions to God, he will definately lead you to the right person. There might initially be some uncertainty on your part because sometimes you wont be sure if its Gods will or your own will because God won't always speak in an audible voice or show you in a dream that this is what I want you to do or who I want you to be with, but that's where faith and trust in God comes into the picture.

You have to believe that God is leading you and that even if you have made a wrong decision, because you are acknowledging him in all your ways, he has a way of correcting those wrong decisions we make if we allow him to.

But be warned, when God corrects our mistake sometimes it can be a painful process, he might require us to let go of something that we have grown attached to.

But if you go with God and allow him to have his way, that pain will eventually turn to Joy as God fulfils his perfect will for our lives.

I know this because the relationship I was in before I met my wife wasn't Gods will but I couldnt see it. After being in that relationship for over a year God decided to put an end to it because I always pray and trust God to remove from my life anything that isn't his will.

The girl I was with then, out of the blue decided to end the relationship, I couldn't understand why at the time because everything seemed to be going great. It was very painful for me because I had grown attached to her and it was hard to let go.

But I thank God for that experience now because I later discovered that she was cheating on me while pretending to be in love with me.

God has now given me Joy in replacement for that pain because I met my wife and she is the most amazing and loving woman any guy could wish for.

If you allow God to have his way in your life, then you can rest assured that he will lead you to his will even though you might have to endure some pain on the way.

Hope that blesses you.
