It Depends.....

Some people will be satisfied with just kissing. They are strong enough in thier Christian walk to express thier love with a kiss and nothing more.

Others aren't strong. Once they kiss they will start petting and eventually want intimacy. This is not a bad chain reaction of emotions. God made us that way. But to have that desire outside of marriage and encourage it is wrong.

I am 20 years old and have never been on a date. I am waiting for a man who the Lord showed me I would marry one day. We are not dating yet, in fact he isn't even on the same coast of the US as me! Because I have never had a man love me in a romantic way, I know that once I have it I will want more. Kissing may be innocent at first, but all my pent up desires will eventaully win out. That is why for my sake-and for his-I will not engage in kissing until marriage. I don't see my desires as a sin. I see then as natural and part of God's plan for marriage and I don't dwell on them. I just recognize that I am not strong enough to stop at kissing.

Perhaps my future husband will be strong enough. Perhaps he could French and never be tempted for anything more. Maybe just a peck now and then would even be enough for him. But does that mean because he is strong I should lean on his strength? NO! Because if I give in to my desires I will be able to not only convince myself but him as well.

What I am saying is this: If you feel that you would be too strongly tempted by kissing, in any form, than don't do it. The Bible says to flee temptation. If you bf/gf is tempted, than for thier sake abstain. But if both of you feel like you can handle it then you are free to kiss. However, always be open to the Holy Spirit. What you thought would not be a temptation for you could very well become one-espcially after the wonder of kissing has worn off from doing it so much.
