Every Single Black Woman Wants A Faithful Man
One of the major areas where black Christian couples experience challenges is when it comes to the issue of faithfulness. There is nothing worse and more devastating for a black woman in a relationship than when you think you share something special with a man only to find out that he has been messing around with another lady behind your back.A woman wants her man all to herself and rightly so, the template God gave us when he created the first couple (Mr. Adam and Mrs. Eve) is that of one man and one woman and I believe that God has never changed his mind about his original plan even though that plan has been ignored by many. Every single black woman and every woman for that matter wants a faithful man, a man that will be loyal to her, a man that will stick to his promises, a man that will resist the temptation to go after other beautiful women he will come across because he has made a commitment to someone and his word is his bond. And faithfulness is not just about not sleeping around, faithfulness means that you don’t flirt with other women, faithfulness is also being committed to making the relationship work and not breaking up the relationship every 5 days because you are not sure whether you want to be in it or not. Faithfulness is sticking to your promises, so if you’ve promised never to lie to me again or never to yell at me again then I expect that you will be faithful to your promises. I think if most black men truly understood the nature of God and were committed to transforming themselves back to that Godly nature, then they would find it easy to be faithful because God himself is faithful and if we call ourselves his children then we need to emulate our father. Every single black woman wants a faithful man because like her heavenly father she has the jealousy imbedded in her and she doesn’t want her man playing the fornicator or the adulterer, pursuing everything in a skirt. God our father says it himself that he is a jealous God and we are created in his image and likeness which means we all have that trait and along with that trait comes an expectation for our spouse or partner to be faithful to us. God requires us to remain faithful to him and not play the adulterer by going after other gods thereby triggering his jealousy and his wrath as a result. Is it really too much to ask? Is it soooo difficult to be faithful to that woman?

Excuses like I can’t help it, or when I get married I will be faithful or any other form of excuse for unfaithfulness will no longer fly. Remember, that it is the habits that you form in courtship that will magnify in marriage, if you can’t be faithful in your courtship then you are setting yourself up for marital infidelity. I have seen a few cases where the guys have been unfaithful during their courtship and thought that the desire to be unfaithful would disappear as if by magic once they got married. In one case that I know the guy’s marriage didn’t last up to a year before he and his wife divorced because the cheating continued, in another case I know, the guy cheated again within the first 6 months of his marriage and it has taken almost 3 years (with the intervention of God) for the healing process to start to repair the damage that was caused and even though they are trying to work things out so that the marriage doesn’t fall apart, the painful memories are still there for his wife. There is much to think about in this article, and there is much to lose when you dabble in unfaithfulness especially when you have a good woman in your life. Besides I think it’s high time we removed this label that has been given to men in the black community. A label that says we are promiscuous, a label that says that we are baby fathers and not committed and loyal men, a label that says we are wife/woman beaters. It’s high time we took up a new label, one that looks like this: A Black Man – A loving man, a faithful man, an exceptional father, a caring husband/boyfriend/fiancée, a gentle man, patient, selfless, a respecter of women, a principled man with values. This is my vision for black men and I hope it will become yours too. Share this article with every black man that means something to you.
