Thank you for this article...i think it's so necessary to share your past-when you are CERTAIN that the relationship is heading towards marriage. Not before. Our past often has such a huge impact on us and is often the place where God pulls out much of our calling or vocation from.
Ministry's are born out of one's past and how will your lifelong partner support or add to your ministry if they don't have the FULL 411? Furthermore,we are creatures of habit. I am not saying that we do not become new creations in Christ-but I think that it would probably be important to know your partner used to maybe be a sex-addict. Or an alcoholic. How on earth will you cultivate genuine and Christ-like love if you are not aware of all these various issues? Furthermore, things like rape and past molestation have such a huge impact on the way we relate to members of the opposite sex and whether or not we are able to embrace Godly sexuality that your future mate NEEDS to be filled in on these things. God bless all.
