There are benefits as well as the woes of revealing past relationships. The benefits are that individuals get to know the kind of person they want to live with and to know whether they will be able to cope with such a person. Be it as it may, any relationship that will last is base on trust and confidence.

One need not hurry to disclose the past relationship until one is sure of the motive and intention of the relationship. Also, the maturity of those in the relationship matters. Individuals that may have passed through urgly experience may not readily accept a similar explanation of a would be partner because of the fear of the past.

However, for fruitful relationship, advice is very necessary. This is because, for instance a rependant armed robber sharing his past with an individual that was robbed and raped will readily withdraw from such a relationship because of the past trauma she must have had. It calls for more advice and counselling on how to handle this sharing of past life style. Nevertheless, trust and faithfulness will be the antidote to such a hasty sharing past life.
